Another thing I just remembered.

I also have this system added to my car.

I'm sure it added a little weight.

Later, Steve

FWIW, my '05 STi weighed in at ~3400 lbs with my 210 lb **** in the seat. IIRC, I removed the spare tire, tool kit, jack and trunk carpet.

sounds right. Do the STi's come with a donut or a full spare. The 996tt comes with a donut, but it is still very heavy. Feels like 60 lbs.

Donut in the STi. If I had to guess the weight, I'd say in the 40 lb range

I was able to remove about 250lbs (tracked all the weight on a spreadsheet), and when I went to weigh it, it weighed 3145 with our me...This was with less than a 1/4 tank of fuel, how I usually drove it.
among other things( most attributed to you ) the weight reduction probably helped a bit in the fast 60 to 130s... I often Get clients asking about how fast the kit will do... Im like you no Mike so forget about it lol

I forgot that I had the car corner balanced a month ago, so I have the weight: 3546 lbs with driver and full tank of gas. Driver and gasoline is 300lbs exactly. So car is at a portly 3246 lbs.

Woofer might have to go......

TT's are fat 3400-3500 completely stock with nothing removed or changed with fluids. Less if you have PCCB, no sunroof and sport seats. The spare and stuff are easy enough to remove though and that's almost 40 more lbs right there.

I suppose a car as described with the spare and stuff out could make it in the 3300's.

My '02 Turbo weighed 3480 lbs when I bought it new in 2002 (weighed on four pad racing scales with a full tank of gas ). I ordered the sunroof delete option and the only weight adding options were floor mats and lumbar support in both seats.

Steve,

Sorry to hear she weighs more than you expected. However, based on the 19" wheels and heavier tires and the stereo stuff, probably not far off from where it should be. For all my fixation on weight reduction, you'd probably be surprised I haven't weighed mine yet...but certainly want to.

It might be worth mentioning the year of your turbos. The 2001s should be slightly lighter if the rumors are correct about additional chassis stiffening...

The chassis stiffening is only different on the Carrera, the turbos are the same.

I actually agree with both of you. As there is nothing conclusive one way or the other, and with Excellence stating there is a variance, I thought it would be interesting to see if the later cars came out the same or potentially heavier.
