Weighed the car today

yeah, after he gutted the **** out of it.
A 2004 sti weighs in at 3300lbs
the new ones are closer to 3400(3384).
my turbo in stock form weighed 3370 ish.
So weight is very close in stock form.

I weighed my car today too...
Turbo S,full leather package,Bose,sunroof,19'' Gt3 wheels,aerokit and PCCB,europipe exhaust,KW V3 and 1/2 tank
Total weight 3440lb or 1560kg.
I am wondering how the gt2 is so lighter 1420kg,only from seats and front dif.

Yikes, those are some heavy turbos !!!
When corner balanced, it was at 3175, and since then I have removed about 30 lbs with wheels, 15 lbs with rear wing mechanism. I have however added 10lbs with my front splitter, and 10 lbs with my exhaust. My car looks 100% stock too.
Theoretically, that puts me at 3150'ish. I'll find out soon enough when my car goes in for a corner balance again.

Interesting that the awd is a joke compared to an sti, if you talk same vintage they are basically the same design. Add an LSD (which should have come stock on the Porsche) and they are the same, except the Porsche handles much better.

I would say the reason some of you guys are coming in with various weight figures, like F1drivers unusually low #s for example, is that you guys are all assuming that everyone's scales are dead accurate which is wishful thinking at best. All it takes is for the scales to be 2-3% off (well within margin of error) and you are talking 60-100 lbs right there. Comparing scale number is like comparing dyno numbers, really only valid when using the same scales.... I seriously doubt that most shops constantly calibrate their scales if ever....

John, you are correct. Unless the scales are calibrated annually, they loose accuracy. The scale I used is calibrated due to the fact that it is used for professional NHRA racing, so it has to be close to dead on. But there is no way F1crazy()'s car weighed 3175 stock. A 996 GT2 is near that. You can easily get a TT down to that, But there has always been two listed weights for the TT, one was 3388 and the other was something like 3485. I am guessing one is Tip and the other is manual.

Guy's my car was weight in at TCD, one of the most reputable shops for GT3's in SFBA, if not the most. It was also weight in at grassroots motorsports . With the weight that was accurate, with my light weight mods done, when i took it to TCD for a corner balance. Maybe my car is lean that is why she handles so perfect ? lol don't know. Both shops race in several racing leagues, so I doubt their scales are inaccurate. Prsche, i never said my car was 100% stock. I said it looks stock.

So you are saying that bone stock, with nothing removed your car weighed 3175? If that is the case, I am saying that the scale is wrong. You are 200lbs off of the lightest stock 996tt's. Seriously. Basically you are lighter than a GT2 that has no front drive system and no rear seats. Explain that? Obviously, that is not possible,.

When did i say my car is stock ?
I said it LOOKS stock.
-LWFW
-Rotec bucket seats
-Light wight battery
-Fixed rear wing mount
- bumper supports removed
- lighter wheels...
- no rear seats or seatbelts
- rear wiper delete
the list goes on and on..

I thought it was weighed stock. Sorry....
The LWFW alone is probably worth 20lbs. Rotects weigh nothing. Ok makes sense now
#29
Looks can be deceiving.
i.e. My exhaust only weights 16lbs vs the ones we make because mine is one solid piece etc.
- I also have an 01, so less sound proof material, no BOSS subwoffer
- no glove box
- PCCB's...
You get my drift now

yeah my sub is heavy and so is all the fiberoptic crap.
