Talking Newbie here

Hello Everyone,
My name is Mike and I want to start off by thanking you all on steering me in the right direction on what to do and what not to do with our car. I bought my dream car (01 SY 996TT) a few years back and have been trolling around this forum ever since. You all have been a HUGE help! I haven't gotten involved with 6speed because I am still learning and do not feel I know enough to share. Haha

Anyhow, since purchase I have installed a B&M SSK, Bailey DV's, AWE-Tuning exhaust, some interior mods from rennline.com, window tint, bumper plugs / wiper delete and smoked side markers. Before I pull the trigger on mods, I like to know what works best for me. I've learned from past car projects to take my time and research each mod thoroughly or end up with frankenstein!

My future mod list grows daily, but starts with suspension, wheels, tune or power package, GT3 seats, and maybe I.C.E.

Looking forward to picking all of your brains further and getting involved in some mountain runs with the locals here near LA!

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike, welcome! For starters I would definitely consider going to a 997 ssk, even though you have a B&M . Also how does the AWE exhaust sound? I'm local to them so I might get one soon

Thanks guys! Pcar community is pretty tight. Reminds me of my dubb days prior to my turbo. I just moved out here to SoCal a couple months back from the southeast. Chasing the J.O.B. haha Yeah Jay, I'm not a huge fan of my BM SSK and have been thinking about the 997 SSK. Shift from 2nd to 3rd is a little touchy and sometimes does not want to go in. Not that I jam my shifts, but sometimes I do enjoy running up to 4th until I back off the throttle. Where would I get my hands on a 997 SSK? Suncoast? Estimated cost? Love my exhaust! No drone, warranty, and sounds AWESOME!! Highly recommend them man.

Nope, I accessed everything from under the car. My brother and I took our time one saturday afternoon. We approached it with a basic 100 or so piece craftsman mechanic tool kit and a set of crows feet to reach one of the bolts on the cats. Only tedious task was lining up the exhaust tips to be even because I can be a little OCD. haha
