Diagnosis: fan failure.
Porsche dealer - new fan: $500
Solution: went to car electrician. Brushes were changed. Cost $100.
All good again.
Was thinking of preventatively fixing the other one, but thought let me see how long it will keep on going. Will report when it fails. :-).
