Anyone try this 996 GT2 wing/decklid?

The 996tt GT2 style decklid and wing is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-911-996-TURBO-GT2-STYLE-DECK-LID-AND-WING-/251131725574?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item3a789e0706

$1299 with free shipping seems like a great price for GT2 style decklid/wing. Note it does not come painted though. Any idea how much painting might cost?

I've been looking for a GT2 wing and decklid for a long time, and always miss the used ones, which sell for 2x this price anyway. Curious if anyone has any feedback/suggestions. Thanks.

ETA: Fixed link to the 996tt version from the $899 C2, C4, and GT3 version.

fitment in the pics looks poor and the upright portion of the wing is long and slim... I'd say poor replica... Get the OEM piece

This looks like for narrow body only? Or are the deck lids the same for NB and WB?

... but it looks like the pictures they posted were from real GT2s and not pictures of their wing on a Turbo. I'm just saying. Fitment and quality may still be OK, but the pictures don't seem to be of their product.

Thanks for the feedback and corrected product link to the 996tt version with the decklid/wing. I edited the OP.

I'm not overly concerned about a fitment problem considering the decklid is included. If there is a problem, the seller has a solid reputation and I'm sure they would accept a refund. If the seller is uncooperative, then Ebay has buyer protection as does Paypal as does your credit card. Would be a pita, but $1,299 with free shipping is about 1/2 the price of a OEM piece, assuming you can find one available (which I cannot - and I'm not a fan of the carbon wing). Waiting for a return call to see how much it will cost to paint it. I assume I can install it myself, or the labor cost would be minimal.

I'm tempted to give this a try. I've been wanting to make the rear look more aggressive with thie GT2 decklid/wing for a long time. Then all I need is some LED tail lights if someone would ever make those for the 996tt...

On another note, if I do this, I'll have my stock hydraulics (working perfectly) and wing to sell. If anyone is interested, please PM me. What is a fair sale price for these parts?

I almost bought it when I was in Florida, cause he was going to knock $150 off cause of local pick up. Def a deal compared to what the forum sponsors are charging.

look at getty designs. they have a great writeup on how to install and fit the front and gt2 style setups. little tricks and tips.
also be aware using the wing with no supporting front bumpers may get you light in the front at high speed. thats a huge increase in rear downforce compared to the oem wing.

Did u look at Misha? They usually have deals for 6speed at lower or same price range and it is a proven product in terms of function with acceptable fitment.
