My 996 Turbo RHD -> LHD conversion

Never answered the previous question; It's a pretty big accomplishment once done, but wouldn't it be much easier to start with a LHD?

This is an absolutely incredible display of basically taking the car apart and reassembling it back together from the ground up. I just don't see how all the time, cost of parts, and effort spent on this could possibly be worth the 10,000 Euro savings the OP had mentioned early on in the thread. Incredible job none the less. I'd never have the guts to take on a project of this magnitude...

I think you are seeing this wrong. As Becha explained in one of the early posts, he is doing it because he enjoys this and it allows him to get to know the vehicle systems inside and out. It is not (just) money. I guess I can sympathize quite well because I am the same. As far as I am concerned, having a project like this in the barn and spending my weekends or eves working on it is.... wonderful.
Same thing as building a kit car or restoring an antique car, sort of. I think it could be thought of as being diametrically opposed to the lux4play crowd while still retaining an interest in the same vehicles.
I don't really get the street racing scene. At all. When I race, it's on a track. And not just in a straight line. But that's just me.
