Back into a Turbo... again.

This is my 3rd 996 turbo... i guess i should just stay in one. lol.

I picked up Bmoores car for you that know that car.

Its nice.

question...
The pump gas tune is tuned on 93 oct.
We use 91 here in Cali... so should i be looking to Todd at Proto for a reflash for the pump gas tune...? Or is it a case of watching the A/F's to make sure the 91 is ok?

Also... anyone have suggestions for a cool baby seat? I believe my little one is big enough for a rear front facing seat. She's just over a year... and has grown out of her rear facing seat.

I flew my little brother out to Austin to pick the car up and drive it back. He drove north to take the scenic route. By the time he got the Albuquerque He got food poisoning. He was jammed up i a hotel for 2 days puking, fever, ect. He then hit the road again and stopped at the biggest meteor crater, Grand Canyon, and some other stuff. Turned a 20 hr drive into 30+!!

Car got here in the middle of the night... i woke up and washed her, and drove her for a bit. Nicely done car. Love the flywheel rattle.. and the atmosphere dumped BOV's or diverters or whatever you want to call them.

Only plans for the car is to convert it back to all wheel... and maybe change the wheels. Other than that... she seems perfect.

Bmoore.. if your reading this.. what were the end dyno numbers... pump/race tunes. thanks!

Anyway.. glad to be back in the Porsche again.

josh.

The car has a boost controller correct?
You won't be able to run the same boost as 93. So careful with that just keep an eye on the afr 's.

Or you could just get a re tune from Todd for 91. Run a few logs and send them to him.

I would say get a re-tune for 91, or add meth injection, or find 2 gal of toluene per fill up, but I think they do not sell toluene in Cali. I was getting my 300ZXTT tuned there and could not find any toluene anywhere. Best to be safe and probably just go with a 91 tune.

Yo Josh. Its David "SLOW 911"... We have a couple local E85 stations, one on Palomar Airport Road and El Fuerte... and one in Oceanside... you could do 3 things... get Todd to retune for 91... 91 + Meth... or E85.... If you want to do Meth go to BBi and have them put it in for you. I'm running 91+Meth and always on kill mode.

Let me know if you need anything we should meet up. You have my #

Nice pickup from Bmoore! Your brother picked a good spot for the picture. About those two days, I think it had something to do with Vegas.

Welcome back !! That's a great looking shot, glad your brother got to enjoy the drive, looks like he made the most of it. Sorry to hear about the food poisoning though, that's always the worst.

Welcome back. As to child seats do a search in this forum. I posted a pretty long note in another article and might have started my own a year ago. I don't have all the details on top of my head but Recaro makes a nice seat as does Porsche I haven't found anything else I liked with good side impact protection. My kids are 5 and 7, and love the back seat of the Turbo.
