996 turbo s or M6

996 turbo s or E63 M6, been on the search for both which would you guys prefer for a daily (live 4 days in CT, 3 days in NYC) keep in mind i already have a 1000rwhp beast for half the week. Just need a 2nd car for daily opinions???

996 x50/turbo s would be black/black or white/black, M6 white/back

For a daily driver, I think you would be most happy with an M6.

I would do the M6. I considered and drove the M6 and 996TT, but I was looking for a toy to replace my Supra (you'll still have your Supra). The 996 is unique and fun, where the M6 is very steril and unemotional.

But the the M6 is absolutely a refined comfortable and beast. BTW I also own an M5. I would actually pick the M5 over the M6. You have 98% of the performance, but way more utility.

The M6 visually seems to be trying to be a sports coupe, but when you drive it, it's just a 4 door sedan with 2 doors and little room in the back seat.

Basiacally if I were looking for a nice daily driver and it was between a 996TT, M6 and M5, I would choose the M5. Plus the price savings of the M5 versis the M6 will allow a the addition of a nice set of wheels.

Later, Steve

I use my 996 TT as my daily driver. (Everyone wonders why I always come to work smiling.)

Depends on how much you drive. The M5 and M6 get about 11 mpg. I'd pick the Porsche every day of the week, even if you get a regular Carrera and not a TT.

I also use my 996tt as my dd. but I fully understand that this is a scalpel, good for one thing. Everything else is a compromise. I clearly would select the M for you!

If you're looking for a 996 Turbo S, I'm currently selling the cleanest one you will find.

That V10 is definitely thirsty but when looking for fuel economy, both are not the greatest.

I would also pick the M5 over the M6 btw.

I've had two 996 as daily drivers and have never regretted it. Are you going to drive the car in the winter at all? If so the 996 would be the obvious choice with the AWD and a set of snow tires!

My M5 is the wifes daily driver during the week and I typically drive it on weekends to haul the family. We average just over 16mpg.

Keep in mind my wife doesn't baby the car and has spend several weekends on the roadcourse (with other cars).

This is our daily combined driving.

Later, Steve
