Track tire & wheel set up ?

Need some guidance. 03 996 turbo. Ready to step up to a dedicated track wheel and tire. Driven enough DE and lapping days to graduate away from true street tires. Still running stock suspension, and will slowly add coil overs - soon.also want to keep to 18".
I looked around on the forum, and could not find the right info, so please don't tell me to look it up!

For those of you in the know, what are the right wheel sizes and offsets, and what are the optimal tire sizes? Don't need opinions on wheels or tire brands, but feel free to suggest if you wish.
Thanks in advance!

Just go with stock tire sizes. You don't need anything larger with dedicated track tires.

A set of OEM takeoffs with Toyo Proxes R888 tires would be the best choice in terms of both value and performance.

+1 OEM twist are great track wheels and tires are reasonable. I just picked up some GT2 wheels so they are a but wider for the track.

CCW 18x9 et40 and 18x12 et44 with 235/40/18 and 315/30/18 Nitto NT01. Wheels are forged, around $3k and are a bit lighter than stock twists and much lighter than the solid GT2 wheels which are super heavy at over 30 lbs for the rears. Tires are $1k for the set and are street legal so you can drive to the track on them. They run a bit wider than normal street tires. They lasted me 32 sessions before cording. Great bang for the buck. Getting close to finishing my second set this year. OZ also makes some very light track wheels that are fairly cheap and popular. Tire rack sells those.

Hey John I didn't know you were on here. Sean from On Site Tires was at my house putting my new R888 on and he said you have 32 sessions on your current set of NT01?

This is Scott the tall fairly young guy (35) with the modified black 996 Turbo and the dark gray Subaru STI that I bring sometimes to the PCA track days.

Hey Scott,
Good hearing from you. Yeah, both Chris and Sean from On Site Tires are great. It seems like they are at my house every week taking care of tire stuff for me. Lol! Sean is right, I had 32 sessions on my last set. I corded all 4 tires in the same session. On the current set I have right at 20 sessions so it looks like I may get another 2 or 3 track days out of them. Those things wear like iron! I think I saw you a week or so ago at the track. I think you had the STI out that time. How's the TT running?
