Hello to the board, I have a delema that I need some input. Traded a 07 S 997 for a sl550..Big mistake..miss my porsche. Was offered a 2001 IMMACULATE 996tt. 40,000 miles one owner perfect color loaded. I will be using it as a DD. Never had a turbo, buthad everything from 944 thought 997.1. My other option was waiting for a good 997.2 to come along.
Asking price is 35,000.

Get a PPI. If it's good from that perspective, the price is pretty good. Is it manual of tip? Cabrio?

Before I got my 03, I looked at an 01 with 89K miles and almost bought it for 32K.

 

That is very cheap= do a search on autotrader etc,if it checks out jump on it they are great cars.

 

$35k for a Turbo is a great price. If you don't buy it let us know where it is and someone will pick it up. Shoot I would buy it at that price. Can't have that many issues that can't be fixed.

 

Getting PPI today by Porsche mechanic. My only concern is ride quality after getting out of sl550 and as a daily driver

Looking at a similarly priced porsche. I know there were some structural changes from 01 to 02, but as HIX mentioned, there isn't much really that can't be fixed.
996 turbo have always had stellar reliability as long as all maintenance has been done.

 

The ride will not be as nice but its a different type of car= you will love it.Good luck you got a great deal.
