Angry Service Results

Just sharing some findings and related info:

Had CEL light. 2 coils were cracked. Coil packs, can be changed without taking off bumper, wheels etc. Tight fit in there but my mechanic managed the job - great!

Not impressed with the quality of PSS10's. Have a look at stabilsers @15K miles.

And finally, really pissed off with Porsche. Had front diff replaced two years ago, this is 15K miles later. Of course out of (1) year warranty. Seal failure.

So, pleased about the coils that went really well but not pleased at all about the rest...

I thought all porsche parts come with a 2 year warranty? My secondary air injection was replaced by the prev owner. 19 mos later I got a check engine light and my dealer changed the parts at no charge.

TMK, parts are not individually warrantied...I've been through three fuel pumps because of ruptured hoses. I also had my front diff go bad (replaced under warranty), but no problems since. I have the PSS9s and no problems either. If I were you I'd be upset as well....

Just checked my invoices from Champion and it states "We guarantee customer pay service work for 24 mos/unlimited miles. We guarantee our warranty repair for the term of your warranty." I guess its their own policy, sorry.

The sway bar links are OEM not from bilstein correct me if I'm wrong. They also appear to be really rusted for only 15k miles. Do you drive your car in a lot of snow or rain?

I think this is wrong. I have always been told by my Porsche dealer that replacement OEM parts are warranted thru Porsche for 2 years.

Will get TRG drops. 997tt coils are now fitted. RWDC... I have been tempted for a while but for fast street driving 4WD is worth having.

PSS10's come with longer drop links for the front only. The factory drop links are too short . The rear drop links are also too short (depending on your drop) and will bind on the frame. Replace them all with adjustable Tarrets.

Not really better quality on the Bilsteins. Same rubber end, same diameter rod just longer. My guess is the break and wear out as fast as stock. They are easy to change. So when they go away get some adjustable drop links. Thick with spherical rod ends and you can't break them. They do require some maintenance (dust boots and cleaning every so often). They do make noise no matter what anyone tells you.

Suncoast parts refused warranty for me because I wasn't an authorized dealer!!! (I thought they were)
