What Have I done?? (J/K)

I know some puristst are going to murder me, but I got the urge to change my car's color a few months back. So I hopped on www.dipyourcar.com and ordered their Pro Car Kit with Matte White and on Friday went to work.

I actually really like it. I need to take some more professional looking pics, but just wanted to throw these up. Don't worry guys it's all reversable and actually looks pretty good.

I think it's cool too. I've thought about doing a wrap to change the color temporarily, and protect the original paint. How does this compare in cost?

I went with this over a wrap because it is WAY cheaper and less permanent. This cost me $336 and 11hrs of my time.

I'm too 53 and going on 54 soon. I'm actually thinking about doing this if I can find the right color.

Props for doing this! Although I do really like the black and gold; both my bike and BMW have that combo . I also know how big of a PITA black is though...

I considered wrapping the car, but most places want about $3000 for a good wrap. I think I could do it myself, but then again my first attempt at wrapping the roof on my Audi went terribly. This cost $340 and is reversable.

To RMC1148, I understand this looks a little crazy. But it is just a car. And a 10yr old car at that. It's not a museum piece or a collecters item, just a machine. I do love it a lot and actually take very good care of her. But at 26, I might make decisions that my 56yr old dad would think were a little crazy!! To each their own.

Nicely done. It won't be cool if someone in the parking lot digs your door and it opens up a little black spot!

Just prep well and make sure they are TOTALLY dry. They make a wheel kit I think. But with wheels the whole job shouldn't take long. The time really goes into the prep work as far as masking off the wheel wells, and calipers.

I actually work for the company that made the original sprayer that he sold. They said we made a model specifically for them, but that wasn't true and we had them take that off their website and they have since went to an offbrand unit like yours. He does still use our unit in all his videos though. Make sure you have very good ventilation when doing this. The dip has a low flash point and the turbines in these units are not spark protected (that is why we contacted him about it) and it could cause an explosion/fire.

That said, we have heard of no instances where there was a fire caused by it and he sold hundreds of our units. The finished product does look very nice and we even tested it some here. It is a great way to change your color without it being permanent!

I think tinting the side windows the same as the rear quarter windows would help
