Actually looking back, it might be because I have cup holders on top of the radio and wanted to keep them....

do any of these units work with the factory cd changer ?

 

Any head unit would be able to play the output, the problem is the control circuit - there is no way for an aftermarket head unit to control your cd player. They don't have the required interface plug.

In my case it wouldn't be necessary anyway. The AVIC-Z120 BT has a DVD player (and USD and SD card...)

im really liking the double din units.... i may invest in one..

Loving all the after market radio set-ups, they look so much better then the factory units.

 

I did the same, this was right after install. It's been a great head unit for my intended purpose (minimal audio equipment for keeping weight down)

I went with the same unit, I think that the double din units freshen the interior up alot

 

I couldn't agree more... A nice double din gets a clean look to the center console, and then moves the HVAC controller down to the bottom. The more I look at the factory radio and HVAC top center, the more dated it makes the car look.

It's really nice that we have an easy solution to upgrade to a double din setup; not many cars offer that anymore...

 

I really like this. Is it possible/kit to move the climate control up one bin? I don't particularly like it that low.
