BCS996TT is infamous around these parts
Sooner or later...these cars will be selling for 50K...who would of guess a 120K+ car could be had for 1/2 the price in great condition....

Same thing will happen to the 997TT if porsche produces too many.

Porsche could probably careless as every used car that's floating around was purchased by some idiot at full or near full retail....I would be one of those idiots....

Oh well.. at least I can say that i've enjoyed the car for over 2.5 years and it's held up extremely well...

They will stop dropping around low to mid $ 60K. At that price, people will start buying them up who normally would not be in the market for Porsche Turbos because they can get long term financing on a 5 year old car.

They have not been doing that bad. I mean, the 996 TTs were in the low 80s a year ago, so about 10K to 12K drop in a little over a year. Not that considering how many 996TT were made, the 997 has been introduced, and the model is now 5 years old. I doubt the car will ever go down to $ 30k or $ 40k range unless wrecked or high miles. They will eventually plateau.

The car market in general is pretty fickle right now in this price range. 6 months ago, you could not touch a Ferrari 355 for less than $ 80k and when I picked mine up two months ago, there were a bunch of them in the mid to upper 60k range. That was like a $ 15k drop in just a matter of 6 months.

Seriously, auction prices are a bit misleading and those figures don't look to far off from what there were for 2001s 6 or 8 months ago. I had dealer buddy picking them up for flipping on ebay paying low to mid 60s 8 months ago. He always calls me when he gets a good deal a TT.
