Bosch 044 fuel pump

Guys I'm just wondering the benefit of replacing the stock fuel pump with a Bosch 044 fuel pump? Does it flow much more fuel? Would it allow me to run an extra 1.5psi on K24/18G set up with 72lb injectors?

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

To add 044 inline, I think you need in line kit for connecting !

Hi,Yes but it is still a better idea then going into the tank and changing alot of plumbing to make it fit AND then that single pump probably still will not be enough..
Markski sells kits for the additonal 044 pump..
Good luck..

Yes do the Inline quick and simple. Mark sells the kit and is a Board sponsor so we should support all of them. He is worth the call as i am sure he has a great price on the kit.

Thanks for the replies guys! I just wasn't sure about going with the additional fuel pump due to fuel economy, I know it sounds silly to worry about fuel economy on a weekend car with 630-680hp! I just dont want it to become silly like 3mpg!! Does the inline kit make it really bad? Also, I spoke to a local tuner about fitting this kit for me and they do not like the idea of having a fuel pump in the engine bay, as with high heat down there, you can get vapour lock in the pump! then you will have all sorts of trouble!

All I can tell you from my experience of adding the pump is...Make sure the tuner checks your tune/data log after install..
I know many say it shouldnt make a difference because of the FPR but it did??
It was rich and lost some fuel mileage and lost response even after it was suppose to have been retuned for it..
I switched tuners and all that was corrected..

thats like saying that there should be no fuel lines in the engine bay... that pump is no nowhere near the engine... its up against the filter... if the pump stops working it will still flow.... just afrs will increase.. but I can tell you from experience that a A3076 at 1.2 bar will do .84 afrs vs .80 so its not like your 18gs will even come close...
with that said, a fuel line can rupture anywhere.. .inc. OEM...
but I created kit that puts the pump in the tranny ...

Sorry to say it but your local tuner is not up on these pump mods on our cars..
I never heard of anyone getting vapor lock due to the engine heat..But it makes sense in theroy though.

Benefits

I am curious. This is the first I have read of putting an additional fuel pump in a K24/18g car. I have these turbos, 72lb injectors, a 5 bar FPR, an Aquamist kit, and have not even thought of upgrading the fuel pump. I am putting down 563 AWHP on Tony's Mustang dyno at 1.3-1.4 bar.

Can my fuel pumpb not keep up? Is there some performance benefit at my level of modification?

I also thrash the car regularly on the track, so I am particularly curious.

Tonys is the one that told me I needed an extra pump when I had his tune with my K24/18gs after it was data logged on the dyno when I swapped to the Milltek exhaust.
