Battery info
Hey guys. It looks as if my battery is on it's way out. I am curious to know if there is a VW or Audi battery that is the same. I don't have a Porsche dealer here and don't want an autozone/advance auto battery. Does anyone have any info or suggestions here?
Interstate makes a drop in battery. My 03 came with one and when it died the dealer installed another Interstate battery. Do not know the model number though.
Be sure you get a battery that at least has the same CCA's and AH's as the stock battery. Do not go overboard though thinking if some's good more's better.

wheelman,
I suggested to you the Optima because it is much lighter to the stock battery, it is dry cell plus the fact that it has the same power as a stock battery. Plus according to Optima, their battery has a very good cold cranking power and last quite sometime sitting without the car being turned on.

Pep Boys auto supply sells Bosch batteries at a good price..
Do a search in this forum, there is lots of info for you. I have an Interstate battery. There are 2 models that fit, take the one with the highest rating. Porsches, especially when hot, need a lot of cranking AMPS.
Since you have a little time, You could call one of the reputable Porsche parts suppliers like Suncoast or Vividracing, get their opinion, and order it from them. Just a suggestion if you don't know what to get.
They use the same system wheelman. I linked you the Audi section as we had a sale on it and its cheaper, but they are the same. You can check the Porsche section.
John, sorry I ment to say odyssey battery pc925t. That is the battery we carry. It weights 25 lbs vs. stock of 54lbs.
So give or take 30lbs. The bracket weights a few hundredth grams.
