No. Like I said previously, I'm not all that impressed being that it is a "new gen" design and all.

No, me too. There is just something about the 997's looks that I don't like as much as the 996. I thought I would like the headlights more (going back to oval), but I don't. There's also something about the slope of the back that just bugs me just a bit. It's rounder than the 996, but that shouldn't be the problem.

I've compared the 997 to the 996 and 993 in pictures, and see that the 993 (and earlier versions) also had a more rounder slope in the back than the 996, plus the oval headlights. For some reason, it just doesn't seem to work exactly right on the 997 as it did on the 993 and before. The front bumper on the 997 is more blunt and doesn't look quite as good from the side as the 996, too.

So I like the look of the 996 exterior more than the 997. I sat in both a 996 and 997 a couple of weeks ago, and the interiors are about the same. The 993 interior was just a little too spartan for me, plus I don't want one quite that old.

Therefore, I resolved to getting a 996tt instead of the 997S (or 993tt). Still waiting to finish the house in a couple months and then the right time (which may be February when the SC430 lease runs out and I can give it back). Then at least Stage 1, maybe more, depending on the warranty it has left.

Funny thing would be you driving up to CC with it next weekend!
That's great, man.
