Manuell???

One of the oddest and frustrating little things about the 996(maybe more?) is the apparent misspelling of the non-auto (ie manual) mode for the A/C.
I double checked spelling of this in German, Spanish, Italian, and nada, zilch.

So how is it that a top tier engineering company like Porsche, where precision is what they are known for allow such an obvious display error? How did it not get fixed by the next model year?

What am I missing? I searched the threads and I don't see anyone comment on this....

Bugs me too. It's right up there with the key being on the left side.

It's is German for manual.
And the left key is part of Porsche racing history.
Got to love those little things.

I did the translation different ways but it didn't dawn on me to START in German and translate to English. You are right! I feel better
I knew about the left hand ignition location from when racers would run to their cars and could start and leave their right hand for the shifter

I have to assume this is a joke right?

The key on the left is an iconic reminder about Porsche's place in international motorsports. I absolutely love the fact that the key is on the left hand side and that it's different than other pedestrian cars.

My daughter used to have a Saab SUV. The ignition key was in the center console.

I know the reason for it, its just clumsy. I close the door with my left hand, and in my other vehicles, insert the key at the same time. Not a big deal, just a quirk.

I always thought that Manuel was the name of the guy who sits behind the center console and makes the climate control work.

I was really annoyed by the ignition being on the left too!

Easy fix though!! Just got a Cayenne as a daily...

Now if everyone else would fix those annoying right side ignitions.
