X-50 components

Does anyone know for sure what you get in the X-50 package. I am aware that new turbos, and a modified intercooler are supplied but what else do you get?

I believe the transmission, turbos, intercoolers, and ECU are different.

Thanks, dosent seem much for the money, or am I missing something. Perhaps the benifit of a factory warranty is heavily weighted.

My car was an X50. I have changed all the copponents since I purchased the car almost two years ago. I actually think the X50 is great for someone who does not want to modify thier car. I think the power is underrated at 450 and you are getting the same engine as the Gt2 for a lot less money. If I did it over again I just would of kept my 01 TT and modified it!!

I went for the x-50 option for the above reason. When the warranty is up, or Porshe's replacement for the 996TT has significantly better proformance, I will either trade-up or have the RUF 550 done. In hind-site, I question weather the x-50 is worth the $18,000.00 cost.

FYI - there is no tranny cooler on the X50!! only on the GT2 (and I think GT3) -I thought the same until I actually saw my tranny being replaced for the popping out of second problem.

In light of Mansour's comment, besides 6th gear, are there any transmission differences between regular TT and TTX50?

If I wanted to add a transmission cooler, can I simply buy the GT2 version and retrofit it?

KPV - not really - different trannies altogether - Techart makes one specifically for the X50 but your car need to go to Germany and the cost was like $7K (plus shipping)

Intercoolers 1200
Turbos - 3K or less
X50 DME - if you know a dealer who can reflash should not be that much - worst case you buy a new ECU from Porsche for 1700

no wonder my dealership cant give me a straight answer on the exact components of the X-50 package.

misindi, comparing the X-50 to stock is there a noticable difference in performance or sound?

Yes to both...the sound is better cause the X50 has a slightly different exhaust from the regular TT...As for performance, you are better off getting an IA600 program
