I don't know of anything significant for the TCU either. I think some of the stuff out there is a scam. I think mine will be going to MKB for the torque upgrade so I don't throw codes.

There are only torque 1st and 2nd gear torque limits in 997

We have some torque limits that have to do with shifting though, but I haven't changed them.

I have stock tcu with no faults from torque

My Durametric codes are:
14 Speed comparison between n2 and n3 implausible
39 CAN: DME communication disturbed
51 Transmission slips or gear implausible

It's all Greek to me except "transmission slips" - that's absolutely correct.
All my searching tells me that FixEuro Dallas has changed hands and the new owners moved it and reviewers say stay away. I guess I should plan to pull it and ship it. Does Protomotive work on transmissions?

You really could start with the conductor plate. they only $150 and easy to replace. Take and have the fluid, filter, and plate replaced. The fluid alone can tell some secrets.
