HELP-torn between 2 Loves

I am the proud owner of a great looking 2001 Artic Silver twin turbo with many upgrades. I love it and use it for a daily driver (35,000 miles). But I have always dreamed of owning an Artic Silver 993 turbo ( I once had a NA 1998 widebody S that I also thought was hot but under powered). I think the 993's were more solid and feel smaller and more nimble (less rattles too). If the 993 turbo's had PSM I would already own one. Look it's raining today (huricane near by) and I am not really going to part with my 01, but do any of you have the same sentiments? stay dry, thanks ritchie

I went from a 993 to a 996 Cab (gutless) to the '02 TT. Like you, I love the power of the TT. I've modded the heck out of the car and it handles like a race car, but with PSM and all of the refinements the car is pretty forgiving. The 993 was quick to go around if you let off in a curve which made for a lot of excitement. I can only imagine what the added power would be. I'm making a run on the 993 TT S on ebay. I am not going to get rid of the 996 TT - but I also want to have a car that doesn't isolate me from the road - the 993 TT. As always - IMHO

I totally agree with this statement... The 997TT is going to offer the best of both worlds... The oval headlights in a new body style, with much improved performance. It's going to be dead sexy. Go for it!

Nice! But you'll have to wrap yourself in a giant condom before you drive it!

My 993 had manual seats and no sunroof so I had an extra 2" of head room. Big mistake not getting sunroof delete.

If you are going to do it go for a 993 TTS otherwise keep the 996 TT.

I'm 6'2" - when I have a helmet on I get what little brains I have left beat to crap. And my idiot son (Alex, you there?) is 6'6"+ and he plays with the seat controls and seat position until he burns out the fuse every time he gets in the car (any time I'm not home and don't hide the keys).

I'm not so sure the 997TT is going to feel any more connected than the 996TT.... but if it's round headlights you're after...

I don't have as extensive experience in both but I think you're exaggerating a smidge there Watt. My personal favorite driving experience has always been attributed with the 993tt. I preferred the 993 over the 996 everytime.
