High Idle

I am getting a higher than normal idle once the car has been driven for about 10 minutes, it idles around 1000 RPM's to 1100 RPM's. I will get a CEL after driving it for a couple of days, check the codes and it states" idle higher than normal", anyone have any ideas of what to check first?

When you say after 10 minutes,,Is that from it starting being cold to warm up?

If you turn the ac on does the idle drop? If so it's a vacume leak

My TT started to idle high (1200 RPM) as well and it returns to normal (800 RMP) when I switch the AC on. It is also sometimes hunting wile idling. Can anyone direct me as to how to find a vacuum leak if that is what is causing it? Any other ideas out there?
Much appreciated.
