naming the BLING section is sooo funny....and appropriate for most users here
I am assuing these rotors are samee size as stock right? so main advantage is weight savings?

Absolutely... the bling is nessasary (not a preffered word though)

The rotors are of EXACT dimensions for each of the OE one piece rotors. To our knowledge, NO ONE ELSE offers an exact dimension two piece replacement for the 996 TT brake rotor. Others offer a “big brake†upgrade for these cars. They have their place, however, the braking capabilities of the 996 TT are such that the addition of a two piece rotor and air ducting can improve the braking and handling of the car immensely. With the addition of the bigger brake systems, you’ve added weight to the front of the car with larger rotors and calipers. Take advantage of reducing your unsprung weight with this system and Porsche’s proven four piston monobloc calipers!
The dimensions for the 996TT two piece rotors differ from the GT-2/3 in overall diameter and hat dimensions. So in taking any order we'd have to know for what car we're making the rotor.

How are these an improvement over the GT2's PCCB's?

Good question...

Louis.. i applaud the good question...

whether it is an aprovement over the PCCB?
Ceramic... from a German pottery class j/k
I would say the most obvious advantage would be the pricing.
Especially if there is ever a need to replace the rotors.

Rusty Fasteners?

Hi T,

You don't have to worry about rust. The fasteners are coated and will withstand humid environments and rain splash. In fact the only rust you'll notice on a braking system is rotor rust coating the face of a rotor on a car that hasn't been driven for several months. Not to worry about the fasteners, though.

I have heard two piece (or floating) rotors on a number of cars and a few have been a little noisy, I guess it is the rotor moving around on the hat?

What does the stress relief/heat treat get for you? A longer rotor life?

Sorry, a final question...if you get the gas slots I suppose you should add the balancing as well. Why not balance all of them?

Hi Gary,

Just thought I'd jump in w/a comment on this Suncoast thread. Since I make the rotors Suncoast provides I'd like to provide some info regarding your Q's:

Some Two Piece Floating Rotor systems are noisy. I can't make any guarantees regarding a race rotor system being as quiet as a street sysem, but this is close. From my experience, there shouldn't be a problem. Nevertheless, I don't know what type of fasteners were used on the set of two piece floating rotors you observed. It does make a difference.

Stress Relief/Heat treatment is designed to obtain a longer rotor life. To tell you the truth, this option matters more for those cars where rotor placement makes it very difficult to replace the rotor. Anyone have any experience in replacing the rear rotors on a Jaguar E Type central caliper / rotor system? Can you say drop the entire rear basket? I've been there and done that. Not fun. IAE, I'd still go for anything giving you additional mileage for a car driven on the track. These cars don't have the same mechanical problems, but the advantage applies.

Regarding Gas Relief Slotting and balancing, my experience is that balancing isn't necessary when removing the slight amount of metal for slotting. Balancing only recommended where drilling is required or you have a team willing to leave no stone unturned (read that unlimited budget).
