get yourself a short shift kit, thats one of the best mods you will ever do
only because most owners dont know how to apply the oil. i have used k&n fitlers in my amg , porsche and harleys. never had a single issue. use the oil spareingly and allow it to dry completely and you wont have any issues.

as for ssk you could try all the ssk out there. or simply buy a numeric once and never look at another shifter again

All my car has is a tune and its 60-80whp more than stock (360-380whp to 420whp) roughly. I'm working on an exhaust now myself however with even just the tune you'll be blown away at the difference. A simple tune will blow away a stock car by a pretty huge margin.

Don't do too much at once so you can enjoy each step as you go and know really what's giving you what you want.

What would the driveline loss be on a 996? 15% (or more?) so a chipped car (like mine) with 420whp is 483bph. How much power does an exhaust give? Should push it over 510-520. SO the 530 quotes above isn't too far off

You should not be hung up on the numbers...It's the seat of the pants, response and how much more fun the car will be to drive with those mods..Most of the tuners got it down pat and are pretty close 'Now' with the basic tune upgrade..
I have been on the Dyno many times at each stage from the beginning..An 'average' realistic number on a rear wheel Dynojet is 'Around' 500hp to 510hp with tune and exhaust,on 93 octane..
