Engine continues revs after clutch disengaged

Has anyone had a problem where, while up-shifting through gears, the engine tachs up a little more after the clutch is disengaged? So:

-Clutch in
-Engine revs a little more
-Next gear

Any ideas? A forum search didn't yield much. A google search hints at either the throttle open/close timing being too slow, or maybe the diverter valve not working right and forcing the leftover boost against the throttle plate.

It was recently tuned, yes. It did this before the tune though as well.

Any votes for clutch slipping? I had it slip under peak boost in 4th today and I'm wondering if it could be related (I can't fathom how, but I'm grasping at straws here).

if it's slipping it's slipping, unless you're tripping

Yeah, it was just once, and the car wasn't fully warmed up yet...I expect that I'll need that taken care of in the next year or so, but I'm not convinced that it would cause the revs while clutch is disengaged issue...

yeah, but if it's slipped once... ya know. i'd replace it at the first sign of slippage. these cars make a lot of power as you know. but if you're able to wait, more power to ya ( and less to the wheels i guess lol ). good luck w it.

I assume you're completely off the throttle? Almost sounds like an e-gas issue. Is there any delay in response when you lift off the throttle? Just grasping too.

Yeah, I'm completely off the throttle with clutch in. E-gas sounds plausible. I'm thinking maybe the throttle position sensor (which I have no idea where it is, or how to diagnose), and not ECU related. Something that shoots holes in that idea though, is that it only happens under heavy boost....

Thanks for the idea.

does sound more like throttle, less like clutch. common for the throttle body to get dirty gunked up and often neglected as a maintenance item. does it "hunt" at idle? like a possible vacuum leak. who knows. just playing along...

Idle's pretty smooth...stays around 1Kish consistently. God knows what the previous owners have('nt) done maintenance-wise...it needed new plugs (totally shot) and coils (cracked), so I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. Honestly could be anything....I have an email pending with my indy mechanic to see if he has any ideas too.

1k is high for idle. should be a steady 750-800 max. when you get these history "less" known, it's best to do the "major" service items eg plugs/coils/gear oil etc to get that stuff out of the way and begin as fresh as you can. unless one has specific problems to deal with first. you may in fact be getting used to certain quirks of the car some of us are already familiar with, though your problems sound unique. but clutch slippage for example, isn't cool no matter what, and i'm assuming you'd know that from normal operating peculiarities.. the ones you will in time come to know and love. it's good to have a good indie, that's for sure. you *may* have a vacuum leak.
