largest price swing/differential on one car was when i was considering a 997t and asked the dealer where i'd already bought the last one ( and clearly established myself as one who couldn't say "no" ) what they'd give me on trade for my very clean x50 and they said $35k. this was spring of '11. roughly a month later the car was totalled and my insurance paid out $57k. a 22k price swing. same car, same year, different "buyers".

I think the 996tt will follow the same depreciation trends the 96+ GTS vipers have, they lost most up front, but you're never going to buy a reasonable example of one for less than a new Toyota Camry. Same should hold true for the 996tt, I think 40 is going to the floor value for a nice 01 with reasonable miles. As new sports car keep getting more and more expensive, it keeps giving our cars more breathing room to hold their value, and as time goes on... Less and less nice examples to be had

Cheers to the original owners who took the brunt of the depreciation

996 tt

You can make a 996 tt faster than any 997 tt S less than $40k it's a great flatform. See the initial dyno post of Jason S with just a proEfi and 5558s precision turbo 600+ to the wheels is insane and thats just the initial dynotune and his goal is 1000 to the wheels i know he can do it no doubt.

So if u score a 996 tt for let's say $35k and build it for 800-900 awhp for less than $40k that's heaven in my book not counting lower cost of insurance and high sleeper factor
