Honk on remote close, what does it mean?

Honk on remote close, what does it mean?
My car mysteriously started to give me a quick honk when I lock it using the remote.
Is this something that I can turn off, or is the car telling me that a switch is open?
ie, is my battery draining unnecessarily when its locked/parked?
If yes, do I need a durametic like cable to figure out what the problem is?

are you clicking the remote 2 times? that puts the car into sleep mode and honks the horn to tell you its on. 1 click just locks the car but leaves many items on standby thus draining the battery over time. no honk

Its the center console switch. I was able to narrow it down by locking the car with me in it and pushing down on that silver piece.
Push down = no honk
Dont = honk
Anyone know the replacement? I dont care if the switch is functional for the alarm or not.

i seem to remember also reading that a double click of the remote at locking would put the car in sleep mode as well as disable the interior alarm portion of the car, but i have no dog in the debate ( or in the car 
) so it doesn't much matter since i get that "chirp" whenever i lock it. i always "double click it". besides, anything that puts these things to sleep moreso than usual is a good thing, and only an extra click away, if true

which part is the BS? that double clicking the remote will put the car into "sleep" mode? you're right, i don't believe it won't but that's only because i'm pretty sure i didn't read about that neat little trick on the internet. but again, the little honk upon locking is reassuring to me by now lol

There is no such thing as "sleep mode"
If your car is chirping, it means one of the following is open:
passenger door
frunk lid
engine lid
center console, or
glove box
If you double click the remote you simply disable the infrared. Now if there is an argument the infrared uses power and disabling it will use less power, I suppose that could be made.
