Check for a blown fuse. Had the same thing happen to mine. Turns out it was a plug under the dash with exposed metal that shorted and blew the circuit with the inner fuel door included. Wrapped tape around the plug, replaced the fuse and it has been good for the last three years. Incidentally, wrapping the plug with tape is the recommended fix from Porsche.

Where is the plug you are referring to? Can you post a picture?

Tool Pants is infamous around these parts
If the cell phone connector touches ground then it blows the fuse for that solenoid for the flap. Starting in 2003 Porsche began to put tape on the end of the connector.

Ken,
Tool Pants nailed it. Plug is in the center console. That's the plug normally used for the V-1 hardwire.
