I have some pics of those parts -- still bolted up though not loose -- from my 03 Turbo while it was in getting a new tranny (at around 40K miles) and what I can see of the surfaces of the parts they are rusty. I have a pic of the input shaft of the oil tranny and it is rusty too.
I can assure you my Turbo has not been under water at any time.
