Handling question
Handling question
At high speeds of 90+, the front end seems to feel light. I lose confidence at that point and don't want to push it, although I've had it to 125 and the light feeling is still there.
I've also felt a similar "lightness" on highway cprners at 70+ and it's just not a good feeling.
I've had the car aligned and the RUF guys swear the front end is solid.
The spoiler is in good shape and the only point that I can identify as a possible problem is having Bridgestones on the front and PS2's on the back (the tread pattern is very similar).
Is it as simple as mismatched tires, or are there other experiences out there?
Thanks for your help.

Yep, most likely tires. Go to PS2's all round, and you should be fine. I've had my C4S to 168, and it was as solid as it is at 68, and I've even got a little less downforce than a TT.
I've hit 180 on my Pilot Sports and it felt just fine. Excellent in fact. These cars can do 130 and feel as comfortable as a Lexus at 55 when setup right. Ditch the Bridgestones. That's most likely your problem.
The tire guy wasn't just blowing smoke.

Are you feeling this "lightness" over undulations on a highway or are you getting lift on high speed turns?....or is it just light feeling on streight/perfect road?
I dont know how much experience you have in 911s but Im sure you know theres a large absence of weight in the front which can make things feel wierd or uncomfortable if your use to front engine cars.
I have felt a "lighenss" in the 964 when going fast over undulations, it might just be a normal thing in your case if your not use to the car and engine layout....OR....its the tires.
