Where to purchase ignition coils

I was wondering who might have the best deal on ignition coils right now. I ordered my plugs and was thinking of doing coils one time as I am in there. If anyone know of a place in Canada that would even be better, so not to not deal with the border.

Thanks

Bobby Ali

John,

called, but they have them beat by over $9.00each!:

http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...602-104-00-M47

I am wondering about the BBI's. If it was even possible to get them for $700, if the extra $450 would be worth it?

Not sure, for $42ea with free shipping at Pelican I might just go that route. My car does not need them, but believe that if I am going in there I should replace the 11year old one one time (just guess that they are from the factory).

the bbi units are very high quality. i believe lifetime coils. so if you keep your car for 90k plus miles they would be worth it. or high performance upgrades. for my mid power the factory units are fine

if you need brakes i did sebro slotted , cool carbon pads, s/s lines shipped for 1125$ from pelican nobody could touch that

I know that there are dyno's showing 13AWHP increase by just swapping the coils. I do not know how true that is being from one run to the next you can gain or lose about the same.

I am just wondering how much power I would pick up with a larger gap with the BBI stronger coils. For ie I was going to gap my new plugs .26-.28, but with the BBI's I might be able to do .31-.34 and get a more complete and cleaner ignition.

I think if these BBI's do give more hp and if it is only 10-13AWHP, but it makes the car smoother, better fuel consumption (not that this matters in my car anyways!!), lifetime warranty it might be worth the extra $$. Especially the more power/boost you run and you can keep your gap larger, I think it might be worth more then 10AWHP.

Has anyone have experince in the above or is this just a waste of time for no REAL gain?

If Indeed they are more powerful then the 997 coils, that extra gap might help But others have made very high HP on stock coils..
But as far as extra HP,that is questionable on most any coils swap depending on how the coils the old coils/plugs performed on there set-up..There was a good Thread last year on this..
Good Luck..

I use Pelican. Their prices and customer service are awesome.

I bought a set of 997s and several went bad. They replaced the whole set at nocharge under warranty. I didnt have to argue with anyone and complain etc, it was very cool of them to replace the full set.
