"The ZX-12R has a frontal area of 6.09 ft2 (0.566 m2), physically larger than the Hayabusa, which is 6.01 ft2 (0.558 m2 ). But the advantage for the Suzuki is not just in frontal area. With figures for both drag and frontal area, it's possible to calculate the coefficient of drag, which is 0.603 for the 12R and 0.561 for the Hayabusa. The winner of this wind tunnel shootout is the Suzuki.

It's worth remembering, however, that neither of these CD figures indicate a particularly impressive degree of streamlining, since even a typical passenger car has a CD of less than 0.60 and some models are lower than 0.30."

The new Z06 is .26. Sport bikes are a brick, plain and simple. I pray that your riding skills far exceed your knowledge of such machines.
Drama queen I would hardly consider them a brick with those numbers. It may not be as good as a z06, but it's certinaly better than a box truck. I think what you guys fail to get in your head is that aeros on a superbike are good enough, and don't matter till you get into warp speeds (160 plus). Which frankly, almost nobody on here will ever see that on the street. The sheer HP to weight ratio simply makes it a mute point, unless you weigh 300 pounds and have rolls of fat hanging out everywhere catching the wind . I guess advantage, Porsche. You can keep eating Krispy Kremes and still be fast

On a side note, I did see and meet a terriblby obese rider on a zx12 at Jennings GP last year. Oddly enough, he could hustle that bike around the track at a pretty decent pace. He wasn't dragging his knee, but he certainly wasn't slouching either. His whole setup must have weighed 800 pounds.

Evan: Exhaust looks awesome. Love the weave on that. Don't forget to get the optional nomex underwear When are you going to have it installed and tuned? I like the akra on the other bike too. Both great products.

Thanks! The weave is nice for sure! It actually helped a lot with the heat (since it eliminated the cat). Gunna put some heat reflecting crap under the seat and should be good to go, but its not bad anymore
I installed the exhaust myself (with a friend) over the weekend:

And it is tuned

No dyno tuning yet, just the Ti Force Map (works very good with the Termi's actually).
Evan
PS- Mike: Very nice man!! Akra was my second choice. I actually decided not to wait for the Termi's and call to cancel and order the Akra's, however, when I called he told me my Termi's were coming the next day so I waited

As much as I'm a fan of Ben Bostrom, he never hit the 200 mph mark at any level (AMA or WSBK). Fastest recorded speed was by Loris Capirossi on the factory Desmodici MotoGP bike at 216 mph last year. Can't remember the track though.

Mike
It was in a practice run. . . the story is out there, but I may be off by +/-5mph.

Funny I was thinking the same thing. Couldn't imagine any street legal bike pulling on KA in any gear.
Well, KA is the exception. You've put in the blood, sweat and tears in tuning the 996TT to it's potential, and you have documented 1/4 mile times that are competitive with sportsbikes. Others have modded cars to be faster than sportbikes. Having spoken with you, I know you and can comfortably state that you have explored the envelope in tuning on many of your cars.

Your car is far different from the "dyno queens" that insert a factor of, say, 1.3-1.5 to determine engine hp based on hp to the wheels, loaded with bolt-on parts shared by tuner ad nauseum (of course "Made in Germany") that really add only about 80whp yet still break all the time. These cars, that run mid-11 second quarter miles will not run with a liter-class sportbike at any speed up to about 150-175mph and they will not run with your car. Let's cut the bs and be real- we love and can afford the finest cars, so there is no reason to be defensive of one of many in the stable.

but never can follow bike's excitement.

I was thinking to get another bike this summer but after that race I decided to stick with my 530HP TT and save $$$.

Nobody loves their tt more than I do. However, before I chipped my car a busa and I tangled on the street once. It was not pretty. I got to hit it first and he let me pull sincerely 50-75 yards away. I kept my foot on the floor but by about 115 or so he came by me like I had an anchor hung out. I was dumbfounded. I figured I would loose as I know bikes are very fast but he blistered my ***! I know many cars are faster than mine but this thing was like a rocket on wheels. Top speed might be another story but in sheer acceleration, he left me badly. This was no 600 cc bike. I don't know what a busa has for power but it will FLY.
