Fair price for 2008 997 Turbo
Fair price for 2008 997 Turbo
Hello,
I wanted to get the forum members opinion on the fair price for a 2008 black manual 997 turbo with 12k miles. Sticker new was 150k and it is an 1 owner car with a clean title. It has the following options:
-Fabspeed exhaust
-ceramic brakes (PCCB)
-aero kit
-thicker steering wheel
-heated front seats
-3 spoke steering wheel
-sport chrono package
-deviated stiching in yellow
-upgraded nav/DVD
-rear camera
-parktronic
The dealer was asking 90k and they rejected my offer of 81k cash. The dealer is offering to let the car go for 86k cash. I'm wondering what forum members would consider a fair price for this car. Thanks in advance!

I did a cursory review on craiglist for my town. There is a 2008 black on seige/manual 997tt with 22k miles, and the dealer is asking $79.9k, options unknown. Something for you to compare, FWIW.
Since rear cameras weren't an option, and you listed upgraded nav/dvd, I'm assuming there is an aftermarket stereo. There are a few functions that are no longer accessible once PCM has been removed. You'd need Durametric or PIWIS to get to them. Just an FYI.

$80-85K sounds about right. Are the stock parts still available? I assume the Aero kit is aftermarket? If so, it's fiberglass and has no resale value. If its Porsche, that's a different story. I would want the stock mufflers and radio. There are no real expensive upgrades ie wheels and suspension work. KBB is not pricing up for PCCBs and neither are most buyers. Remember, this is a .1 with a 3.6 engine. The .2 with 3.8's are coming down into the $90's now.
If the car is CPO you're getting a steal at $86K. That's really the key. Without a CPO, low to mid 80's is still a good deal...but if they're offering it CPO'ed for $86k...do it, trust me.
I would jump on it...clean, low mileage 997 Turbos are going to become very rare, very quickly.

I bought an 08 triple Blk. Cab. with 5.9K on it for 86K from a private owner in Feb. it has Chrono, Sport Seats, Heated seats, CD changer, Deviated Stitching, Tiptronic and Parking Sensors.
I felt I made a great deal, all the 08 997TT Cab. CPO. cars were in the 95-100k range for anything under 10k miles.
The coupe should run about 2-3K less than the Cab, both KBB and NADA are not in line with current pricing.( about 4-6K short)
Good luck with your offer.
