Just a quick update on the exhaust work:

I had some problems with my turbos and I wasn't happy with the lag of my K24s, so I decided to upgrade to Tial Alpha A28s. I like the almost instant on boost more than top speed, which I don't go for too much.

The exhaust has custom 5" cats with big cones and hence a little work on the flanges was necessary to not block the internal wastegate pipe of the A28s. I grinded the flange and have opened it up a bit.

While I had the tool in my hands, I also did some porting on the A28 turbine inlets as well. There was quite a step inside the flange (see original pic).

Thank you Mark for the exhaust - I still like it very much.

And thank you Sam for the A28 deal and your support. It was a pleasure working with you.

Andreas

I assume these were not 18g's ?

factory K24's ? Just curious. I prefer the torque down low, and sometimes wish I would have gone with A28's or K16 Billets instead of K24/18g's. The 18g's aren't that laggy, but I think I would prefer full spool 500+ rpms to the left.

These were kinda 18Gs. K24 with 2480 wheel. Flows is like 18G, but the wheel is lighter. Still not what I prefer.

Thank you Mark. Yes, I am keen to see if these really are what I want. I think I can start the car this weekend. I didn't have much time in the last few weeks, so wrenching was on hold.

When everything is going well I can do some test pulls on low boost with the BC and then the car goes under the knife again and the engine build will start this month. I want all the torque I can get from these turbos

Hi,

it took some time to put everything together - if I only wouldn't have to work for the money I spend

Boost Controller is installed, rev signal check this morning and as a byproduct, here is a short vid of what the A28s sound like with this exhaust:

If you can't wait, you can skip forward to 3:50 to hear a few short throttle blips. When the engine is warm, I may do another vid with some real revs moving the blades

Best
Andreas

It sounds really good Andreas. You can really hear the turbos. Did your K24/18gs sound like these? Pretty cool you can hear the turbos even through the cats.

Thank you guys

No, my K24s do not come even close:

I already liked the exhaust a lot but these A28s really have added something cool to it. I must do another vid of the more aggressive tone when the engine is warm and I can push it a little. Did that today and if you already liked these vids here, you will love the next

Layinback,

Are the R888 what you run at your power levels?

Your 60-130times in the low 5 and now 4's, where they done on the R888's ?
