911tuning X design custom exhaust
Andreas, I would not mount in car. I would just use as a logging unit.
Somewhere you mentioned you bought a Hero 3, no? If so, are you happy with it?
Andreas
Yes I have it. I need to upgrade something on my pc to process the footage. Great little unit. Hit up Craig@world sponsor here, he killed the price locally. It has to be killing you not to drive your car.
Hi,
you don't know how much, but I am getting ready now.
We have such a bad weather here that I am not that much in a hurry, but of course I want to try the "new" car
I did take the hard gearbox mounts out. I had quite a lot cabin noise and I think these units were responsibe for my ignition breakup. My guess is that the knock sensors have been catching the transmission noise. This, or my plugs have been opened too wide - has been fixed, too.
BTW: the new transmission mounts have been in the car for less than 1500 km / 1000 miles and one side is already disassembling.
Here is a pic of my cool manual lift
and to be on topic: the final work on adjusting the tips has been done.

If not careful, it is very easy to install the transmission mount with preload (twist) on the rubber bushings which will cause then to break down much quicker. Ask me how I know. I have had no issues with my new 997 tranny mou t that I installed 4k miles ago.
Hi Tim,
I have not figured out to get Durametric read knock sensors. Did I miss something?
What I have is this data which I had put into pictures for easier readability. Revs are running linear, no hint of spinning wheels or PSM in action. Load is looking ok (Load Index is being made up by me. It is just the area under the curve in order to see improvements or losses between changes). Load is calculated (VE based) and not the ECU value.
Ignition breaks up between 4-4.500 rpm. Coils are fresh and plugs were almost new.

Hi,
my car is back on its feet again. The detailer who worked on the step lip Gemballa wheels did a bad job and these wheels are "on hold" right now until the issues have been resolved.
Since I need wheels for the winter time anyways I decided to get some BBS CH-R and put Michelin PSS on them. The coating makes the wheels look almost glossy and not matt, as they come. I like that.
Next step is putting the new 997 seats in and then finally I will be able to drive that car again

That's interesting Andreas. I have the latest 997 transmission mount purchased late last year and the rubber bushings are NOT filled in completely, they still have voids even though they are smaller than on the 996 mount. It does however look like the 997 bushings are filled in completely because there is a very thin sliver of rubber in the areas of the voids as it came out of the mold. If you reach in you can easily poke though it and expose the voids in the bushing. Maybe there is a new version of the bushings that has come out in the last few months but I don't think so...
Sorry, I provided incomplete information. The transmossion mounts I used were Torque Solution Urethane Filled Transmission Mounts, which are based on the 997 core and do have a solid filling.
