So here is my short list, of things that I will do while I'm refreshing the motor (besides replacing all gaskets/bearings etc).

GT3 Crank shaft.
GT3R oil pump
Port the heads
Port the headers
MAYBE racewear studs.
Coolant pipe fix
Intake tubing
New water pump

Transmission:
LSD ( but still retain the awd)

That's about it. Any last recommendations ? This is a nice refresh, and replacing the weak links, imo. Last time I dynod the car I did 42X hp and 49X tq, at the wheels. I'm hoping with those modifications, I can get 45x hp and 52x Tq. Em I dreaming getting 20-30 hp/tq out of these mods with k16s ?

If you are going to do any port work to the heads you might at well do bigger valves and bowl blending. Hopefully you only gonna be in it once! You don't need a Porsche specific person to do the heads. Any reputable machine shop can do a good job. Might even look into extrude hone.

its just a small thing but replace all the vacuum lines you can find with new rubber and tie wrap them tight. also i would do a close inspection of all the wiring harnesses for wear and fatigue. the heat creates havoc with the insulation wrap and the wires themselves , and these are 10 yr old cars. better to find and replace them now vs. later when everything is reinstalled.
gt2 slave mod would be great to do also if your so inclined

Thanks for that input. Any drawbacks in going bigger valves ?

Yes of course, I'm going to check for all that.

New intake filer/ fuel filter, hoses that are needed, etc...

I like the clutch feel that I have now. I thought about doing the slave mod but....it is not in my priority list if i'm honest. I would like to, as i would lose 10-15lbs off the car and bring my net total weight of my car to sub 3150 but...I also need to make the car easy to drive which is my goal.

32krazy makes a good point. There really is a ton of small stuff that can be done while in there. U might look at some non-Porsche forums or engine building guides to get some ideas too.

Worse gas mileage of the valves...lol...some will suggest only doing the exhaust side. Again my ego would not allow such a thing. Some also recommend a rougher finish to any port work to ensure a semi-turbulent flow in the areas where fuel and air are mixing to ensure adequate mixing. The smoother finish of extrude hone may reduce this. Just do your homework on it.

You could even have a custom crank built to the GT3 crank specs. It could even be lighter and stronger than the GT3 crank. I checked into it already seems like the guy said $1200-1500 but I forget the vendor. Again a reputable. It wasn't SCAT, eagle or crower. In fact, come to find out, at the time crower was in secrecy working on the stroker kit for vivid with custom crank and rods.

thanks for the advice. If you can recall the source let me know.

As for the valves, meh it sounds to complex ! simplicity for reliability. Porting is fine. Like I said, I only want 20-30 hp/tq more out of this rebuild ! Again I use the car primary for DD and back roads. Some track. All I need is a few extra pony's to keep up with the new 991's !

I would still add: knifing crank, boat tail case along with pinning case to your list.
