Hi! Picked up an immaculate 2003 996tt with 44k miles from private owner... the car hasn't been driven much in the last 2 years (4k miles)...

The car has a GIAC tune with a OBD loader... Stock X16 turbos..

Since I am such a NOOB, I was just wondering if my car was 100% healthy (which it is) with stock turbos boosting at max 1.2bar with giac tune on 93 octane, how much HP at crank and wheels estimated?

Also car has a Gemballa exhaust.

Sorry for the super noob ?, just never had a turbo car this fast... Also any good reviews on the giac tune (the car inherited it) ? Thanks in advance.

 

you should be fine...
FInd out how long ago the tune was put in... and maybe you can get a update for free if its been over 6 years ago... also, ask for a 93 octane tune ... you may have a 91/ and race file...

k16 flash good for 480-500 crank HP.

 

GIAC flash puts the car to 1.2bar.. aren't most flashes 1.0bar?

 

I was seeing 1,2bar with GIAC tune on my previous setup(996tt x50 and europipe)...most of the times under big load and gear...

The car prodused 530ps and 700NM of torque

 

Plus 1. I have a 1 bar tune and exhaust. Dyno'd at 485 HP/500 FT/lbs at the crank. K16's

 

Please let me know if you get a update response from GIAC. I'm two emails into them and only crickets. The local shops that handle them now aren't focused on Porsche so I'm attempting to go direct.

You'll want to find out when the spark plugs were done last as they are short term wear items on this platform. Though from your descriptions, it sounds like the car is healthy. If you like, you can PM my your VIN number and I can tell you when it was last flashed in conjunction with our latest file up for the K16 software.
