Has anyone replaced some of their interior parts with alcantara? I'm especially interested if you have a black interior and have installed some of the dark gray alcantara trim - like the shifter and boot. If so, could you post a pic?

Would it look goofy to have only some parts in alcantara and the rest in leather? How about the color mismatch - too silly?

I'm asking because I like the 997 shifter and boot in alcantara but I wonder if it would look ridiculous with my black leather interior.

I have the same idea (Alcantara). I have a black interior as well but I personally wouldn't go for gray. I will go with a red black theme with Alcantara on the shift/ebrake boot, arm rest and steering wheel. Basically RS colors. Here is a rough idea of what I have in mind:

looks great when new, and not when it isn't. my center console is covered and it's beginning to look like a thriftstore hush puppy.

 

^ those pieces have been in my car for 5 years.

Except the steering wheel, which gets a lot of physical wear, the Alcantara on my seats wear just fine.

 

everything in my car looks old. not at all like your gt. been thinkin about getting the dct steering wheel in grey.. then i'd need the gt3recaro's with the alcantara inserts, and then...but my tired old black center console piece.. must go. the roof liner's still ok LOL

 

OP yes. I am planning on wrapping a few interior bits in OEM black alcantara (black interior) Once the stuff is sourced and installed I'll post some photos.

I am also covering some interior bits and will post when they come in. I am covering the dash cluster cover, arm rest, shifter, steering wheel, driver and passenger airbag and the horseshoe vent surround.
