Anyone have any experience with this clutch?
Anyone have any experience with this clutch?
ACT Xtreme Clutch Kit (Street)
Torque Capacity: 787 ft/lbs
Clamp Load Increase: 37%-88%
All ACT Pressure Plates and discs for the Porsche 911 Pull Type applications are SFI spec 1.1 certified
I did a search, but didn't see any comments from someone using this specific clutch.
Thanks, Steve

I was sponsored by ACT in my Talon for a few years when I raced hardcore. They are awesome clutches and held lots of power. Never had a failure and engagement was always really nice. Talon was 500hp (6 years ago that was a lot
) and AWD. I was always able to launch with low 1.7 60fts using a power slip launch method.
No direct experience with that particular clutch on Porsche however.

I am also on the stock clutch but mine is slipping pretty bad in all gears. I have a few quotes on clutches but am unsure on which route to go. I have used ACT many times in the past with zero issues so it's familiar. Also the price is attractive too!
I had one in my car. I hated it with a passion and so did everyone else who drove my car. It was like a light switch and it had about 1/8 of an inch pedal movement between on or off. It only went about 3000 miles in my car before it was baked.
Ouch! Did you have the street version listed above? Also, if you don't mind sharing, what clutch did you switch to and how do you like it?

Definitely sounds like the race version instead of the street version.
I went with a ERP as talked about in numerous other threads. It is paired with a GT2 slave conversion and the set up is brilliant. Cary from ERP stands behind his product 100%.

Most aftermarket High clamping load pressure plates are modified Sachs units which cause that light switch modulation.
Thats how my last 2 Clutch Masters were but the current one I have from Sachs Performance is perfect a very nice modulation..
Good Luck.

I am running 550+ HP and went through a stock clutch in about 2500 miles.
I wanted a stock, daily driver like clutch that would handle what I have now, and maybe a little more.
I went with a Sachs stage 3 set up and new accumulator from SamboTT and couldn't be happier. Hind site being 20/20, I would start with a new Flywheel of your choice. I went an OEM DMFW.
It is super easy to modulate and great in traffic and stop and go....
Mine feels like stock, but will "light em up" if I need to in order to ward off a pesky wabbit or Corvette....

I'm 90+% sure it's the Sachs stage 3. I'd PM him on that as 100% sure would be better. IMO, It is Def a good street/race package with a 60/40% bias to street. I'm pretty easy on clutches if its done right. Sam is a trustworthy guy and will get you very competitive pricing. Likely has it in stock.
