what a different experience, my 930 had 400rwhp and felt like it wanted to punch me in the face and steal my wallet everytime I drove the car. The 996TT is way more civilized but still a good kick in the a$$ when you step on it. Although I do miss the rawness of the 930 I think Ill get along with this car just fine.
Its bone stock (for now)with 113kms (70miles) and is very tight. Only issue is the rear spoiler malfunction so need to decide what to do about a fixed wing or repair the hydraulics.
Short term thinking about spacing out the wheels 7mm in front 15mm rear.

7mmx15mm spacers on stock twists are the next best thing to gt2 size/offset wheels. vast improvement over stock stance. even better lowered 40mm or so. also, you can try the spoiler re-bleed if it's just low on ram fluids. GL w it. much more docile and quicker than the 930 i would imagine.

That's how I felt about my 2WD 993TT. Once you beef up the 996TT it gets more attitude. Just right!

Question...I got a second set of winter wheels and tires with this car. Where can I go on this site to get feedback on how much they are worth? I dont have enough posts yet to list them for sale here.
After driving the car it is fairly stiff in stock form for the streets of Calgary so might wait on lowering the car for now but we are going to play with spacers next week. Hopefully its just a hydraulic fluid fix...

but yeah, lowering can affect it's driveability on the street. i go thru about 2 c4s lips a year too. search on the wheel tire combo and i'm sure you'll be able to list in the marketplace soon enough. enjoy the car.
7 and 15mm spacers will be great.
I have definitely thought of it, they were WORK Brombacher wheels and they really looked amazing on the 930...going to keep the 996T a little more subtle and under the radar.
Ok one week later and i am loving the car...decided not to lower it just yet as I've scraped the clip a few times and the roads are pretty rough. the car handles great as is for now but I am going to play with spacing out the wheels this week.
By not lowering it I'm reallocating that $$$ into an exhaust set up but i am struggling with what to do. I think i have read every opinion on every different system out there. EP1 is on the top of the list right now but just hoping that for the $$$ i am going to get the aggressive sound I want. There is no weight savings with the EP1 over stock and just a claimed +18hp. Fabspeed leads the "less expensive" list but tried one of their systems on my 930 and hated it. But thats apples to oranges.
My only issues with the car are the common ones...1)rear spoiler failure, read all the DIY fixes so need to start disassembling and looking into it. 2) oil indicator failure light where the oil pressure drops to 0 then bounces back a few seconds later...hoping just a loose connection.
Those issues aside the car is tight and super fun to drive!! Very happy with the 996TT but still missing the rawness and visceral feel from the 930.
