If you are getting a M6 in the spring then there's not much reason to get the 650 unless you just would really prefer it's style over the M5. There's no question the M5 would be the better performance car when hammering but if you are just loafing then the 650 is plenty potent. M5 is only SMG and I don't know about the 650 but I'd take a 6-speed 650 0ver an SMG M5 if it was only for a few months.
