another post to add review to gt2 slave conversion
I was unfortunate to do the conversion twice. I wasn't too happy after the first conversion, was dissapointed actually.
the pedal feels very heavy, and after a while I started to hear creaking noise.
500 miles later my clutch started to slip ( I had 5k miles clutchmaster stg3), so I decided to replace the clutch and re-check the conversion.
sure enough the slave cylinder had failed because it wasnt installed and aligned correctly, the rubber boot is gone and it wasnt a pretty sight.
Mike at AWE hook me up with sachs motorsports stage 2.5, the kit comes with the 099 pressure plate. replaced the slave cylinder and voila!! for the very first time after 4years, it feels like a tottaly different car. It's how 996tt should be from the factory.
pedal feels firm and engagement is very precise. it's night and day comparison to modulate the clutch.
sachs mosport also feels just right, firm but i can handle LA traffic no problem.
I know this has been mentioned many times, it should be done right after you got the car, no doubt about it.
many thanks to Audidweeb to help with my research and questions.
Mike AWE for first class service and House Automotive in Pasadena for taking care of a noisy customer (no, they did not do the first conversion, the shop remains anonymous)
I fall in love all over again

So the Sachs 2.5 is "OEM" streetable? Do you know what HP/TQ it's good for? I'm only going to do K16 Hybrids or K24's with bolt ons and a tune. Do you know if that would be appropriate for those power levels?
My Rturbo came with the Sachs Motorsport 999 clutch from RUF. These are referred to as Sachs 2.5 I believe. My car has the GT2 non assist hydraulics and the clutch is absolutely perfect. Zero noise or chatter, perfect modulation. Feels very OEM, maybe a touch stiffer than a GT2 clutch due to the motorsport pressure plate. It has been trouble free over 20k miles with frequent track work. Engine was out last fall, clutch was examined and showed minimal wear. No issues...

I recently did a GT2 swab on my Turbo and I too hear a creaking noise, but only when the pedal is at a certain position, not through the entire movement. I said something to the installer but he didn't think it was an issue. I only have about 1500 miles on it since install. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it. It's these little things that bug me out even if it's nothing.
We have daily driven that clutch in the 700 crank horsepower range without problem. I would certainly recommend it for K16/K24 cars, and even some A28 cars.
