When I find the time, my goal is to source he appropriate brass tubing so we can simply rebuild the ram.

Just read through the whole thing. My wing has started to come up lopsided (one side goes up all the way, the other only halfway)

So I am regrettably finally interested in this also...............

I'll try to get back on this project next week. What we need is some brass tubing with an I.D. of .4925" and a wall thickness of .035". Right now the best I have found has an I.D. of .495", but a wall thickness of .065". This will fit, but it may be difficult to crimp the ends into the grooves.

I ordered some brass tubing today. The ID is correct, but the wall thickness is greater than stock. This won't be a problem if I figure out a way to crimp the tubing. If I can't, I might have to get a machine shop to turn down the OD slightly.

Thanks for the new motivation guys.

Awesome!!! I'm sure a machine shop can make easy work of a simple brass pipe.

forcefed1 is on a distinguished road
Im interested AND I own a CNC machine shop that could make all of this.
My rams are not leaking but my master cylinder is.
put me on the list.
If your source for manufacture isn't working out shoot me an email or PM I will take a look at making them for you all.

I just have warning lights at the moment but think the rams are leaking so may be in as well.

I cut into one of my rams today and was able to actually measure the ID. The actual ID is 0.460", so the the 0.495" ID tubing a purchased is not going work. I'll try to order some new tubing this week.

At least I was able to get the old tubing off without damaging the fitting on the end.

Steve,
I have another ram if you need to use it for science again.

I haven't had any luck sourcing 0.460" ID brass tubing.

If anyone knows where I can find it, let me know.

I chose brass tubing instead of having brass round stock bored 0.460", so we wouldn't need all the surface prep for the internal o-rings to seal.
