V noisy LWFW
dhahlen, would you agree with my comment below?
…once everything is warmed up... it sounds like a early 2000 Dodge Diesel pickup truck in side the cabin. Again, only in neutral, at a stop sign. You really do not notice it while driving the vehicle.

Okay, new video when warm....
This is what it sounds like after twenty minutes or so of driving. I'm at a stop light, the car is in neutral, engine temp about 210ºF. When I depress the clutch the tumbling & rumbling sound dissipates almost completely. When I turn off the AC you can barely hear it.

Ok here's my take : mine sounds very familiar to your sound clip though not quite as noticeable but I also have a 3" exhaust which changes the sound a little . That said I believe it is the nature of single mass fly wheel, Porsche put dual mass fw in our cars for that specific reason . In mine on light to medium acceleration between 2.5-3 k I experience a vibration that when if first occurred I thought car was misfiring .
i've heard a number of tt's w lwfw's installed. that one sounds really loud to me.. but i don't have one, so perhaps that's within the range of "normal"?. but if it sounded like that at idle, i'd be pissed.
ALL:
It is a rather disturbing noise indeed! So can anyone offer up an explanation why the noise almost disappears completely when I turn the AC off? I find this very strange.
Thanks,
VID

I am beginning to believe this is normal after all the reading and various feedback from everyone. I think the shops struggle with the actual cause or unfamiliarity of the noise because essentially we have replaced OEM parts with Motorsports and race car bits that are used in CUP cars. CUP cars do not have AC....therefore no strange noises occur. If I turn my AC off the slight LWFW rumble/chatter is minimal and 100% acceptable. AC on, different story.....fortunately this is primarily a track toy for me, therefore I can accept the audible distractions and live with this for now
wouldn't bother me a bit.
This is exactly why I removed one within 30 days and went back to a dual mass - I loved the way the LWFW drove, but could not stand the noise. Personally, I would never buy one again for a street driven TT. Some people don't mind them, but it's not for me.
