^ what do you mean? It already is an amazing looking car!
Daed.... unbelievable job with your car! I love the attention to detail... I can only imagine your obsession (because I am obsessed as well).
How was it dealing with ADV?
Also, I would totally go for the Ruf wing... would add a subtle hint of aggression and round out the car nicely. I have a Strosek and love it, but you need to stick with Ruf (both sort of similar looks).
Any videos of the Unobtanium exhaust? Would love to hear a launch with those pipes at WOT!

Keep up the great work!
I bought 4 sets from ADV.1 in the past 2 years and have been nothing but impressed with their service, build quality, and fitments. They aren't cheap but I am a bit of a wheel freak and their runouts are stupid low compared to other aftermarkets i've checked coming out of the box and the finish quality and little design things they do, to me, really make a big impact and is something I enjoy.
I'll try and take some videos of the exhaust over the weekend!
I keep going back and forth on it... can't make up my mind.
Thanks for your help on the suspension suggestions - couldn't have done it without your advice.
I think a techart type 1 or strosek rear wing would look great as well and compliment the front bumper.
And thanks from me as well pwderhound! Based on your recommendations, I picked up some RSS solid rear thrust bushings, Rennline adjustable rear toe links and locking plates to round out my suspension (already had JIC suspension, H&R sways, and adjustable end-links). After a corner balance and alignment the car handles great! I haven't done a lot of spirited driving yet, but so far the ***-end feels much more planted.
My OEM subwoofer trim covers had become brittle and the mounting tabs had snapped and they would fall off during driving. I had just taken them out but the unfinished look just bugged me.
I couldn't find any OEM 996 trim pieces but found some 997's on ebay and they looked very similar so I took a 50.00 risk and bought them. Snapped right in and i'm one step closer to having a like new interior.
RUF shift **** and new DCTM steering wheel are on the way along with a matching shift boot. LED Bulbs and new window switches get here this week and the steering wheel will take about 5 weeks to make (they are making the stamp to put the RUF logo onto the steering wheel) and it takes some extra time.
Petza914 hit me up after seeing my WTB thread. He found 5 guys and the original manufacture that made them for RUF and they are making a batch of 5 up for us. PM him - maybe he can provide more.
More Useless updates...
New Gas Cap with an unbroken tether... Suncoast LED rear license plate bulbs installed, and I replaced my window switches for some new ones that aren't scratched.
This is going to turn out amazing. Speed Yellow really sets off the RTurbo nose. I'd love to see how the custom center caps came out.
Congrats on the car. It is looking nice. Do you recomend a vendor for the front bumper. Also, could you share more info about the moving of the radiator, is it because the front converson?

RUF Germany might have new old stock of the bumpers (unless they are actually still producing it). The front bumper relocated all of the radiator placement to allow for new ducting and the new aero (gt3/gt2 style air exit above the center radiator).
Compared to my stock 996TT bumper I could tell an immediate change above 100mph with the RUF bumper. Front end no longer felt light and really sucks down onto the road.
As some of you may or may not know i've been trying to track down a authentic RUF shift **** for close to 4 years now. After been scammed 2x's on 6 speed and deciding I didn't want to spend over 1500 bucks on the only one to come on ebay a few months back in the 3 years i've been looking on there a very kind member on 6speed pm'ed me after seeing this thread and said he was going to be in Germany and he would be happy to pick one up for me.
I thought to myself "sure buddy" but he didn't ask for any money and said he'd have pictures for me in 3 weeks... 3 weeks later I get a PM and whadaya know... a brand new N.O.S. shift ****. After peeing myself I promptly told him:
And he did. To me the little details on a car build make all the difference and I knew the car would never feel complete without it so I can't thank Petza914 enough!
The other thing I was trying to track down was an authentic RUF steering wheel. Which, after contacting RUF, they will sell you but the shipping alone was going to be 1200.00 due to the goods being classified as an explosive (the airbag). So all in it was going to be close to 3k and thanks to my lanky 6'2" body my knees were still going to hit the RUF wheel as it was only marginally smaller than the OE.
So I ended up contacting DCTMS and had them make me up a custom wheel. I did the outer stitching to match my seats and shift **** boot, and kept the airbag stitching black so it wouldn't draw your eye too much. It's also smaller and has the flat bottom which should make the driving experience for me much better to live with. It's not authentic, but I feel it was the best compromise I could come up with. I think it looks fairly OE RUF frankly and i'm very happy with the overall outcome.
I've got a new OE Porsche steering column cover (mine has drill holes from the previous owners laser jammer install), new driver and passenger OE porsche door sill covers (my plastic is a bit too scratched for my liking), and a new ignition switch surround (mine looks pretty banged up from the first owners apparent lack of hand/eye coordination).
Just want to bring everything you touch and feel on the interior to looking new again.
I might not install until the spring as the snow is coming within a month or so and I don't want to have any downtime. RSS engine mounts are here and will go in at that time as well.
