Well the last few days my car alarm has been going off at all times of the night while parked on the street (GFs place). Not fun at 1am running outside to turn it off by key so I decided to install and aftermarket alarm and disconnect the stock one and now use the new fob that came with the alarm system to open doors and trunk. I just use the stock key to start the car so my problem is solved via a different route.

i had that happen also. car alarmed for *no* reason! thought it was something to do with the motion sensor feature but it happened all as the guts were failing. now my spare won't activate the trunk button but still locks/unlocks the car.

my next move is two new 996 fobs w guts and have them programmed by the stealer. that should set me back about 600. it's always the little sh*t.

Were there ever any updates to this problem? I just had the same failure that some of you all are reporting... Red light on the fob still blinks, but doors and trunk don't respond. My other key fob still works fine (for now)...

thanks

Cant believe it!!! This just happened to me on the past days. I can still use the key to turn the car on, but cant use the transponder to turn on/off the alarm or the frunk!! The other key is working perfectly..
