Please help

Please I need your help if you can.

Right next to the battery at the bottom there is a rubber that closes a hole and have a water outlet that lets water out if any water comes into that compartment (next to the battery towards the fender. (On the passenger side if you have a right hand drive).
I tried to remove it an accidentally dropped it into the the whole it is supposed to close. On top of that, while trying to fish it out I now dropped my screw driver in there as well. This will obviously become a rattle.
Can anyone perhaps help me with advice how one can maybe remove it from the bottom?
I will appreciate all help please.

Kind regards
Luke

stick a extendable magnet in the hole to try to grab the screwdriver. other than that i can fully feel your pain. ( dropped a 6" piece of tubing into my trans case and now its headed to the shop to be torn apart to remove it)

Try a set of long needle nosed pliers for the grommet it might get the screwdriver as well, otherwise as 32krazy said an extendable magnet should be able to get the driver, good luck.

Thanks for the advice guys. I can just of see the grommet with a torch but the screw driver is gone. Not just is it gone it is a long thin one. I guess 6 inches by about 3mm in diameter. Krazy, I read your original post about the 6" plastic and I remember saying to myself I would s&^% myself if happens to me and now here I am. Don't even want to go for a drive in fear of wedging it in deeper and also if fear of hearing this hell of a rattle....shy smile... Hope someone will tell my it can be removed from the bottom...(wink)...

try the magnet. i have surprised myself more than few times by simply extending it as far as it will go and wiggle around in the hole. you may just grab the screwdriver and fish it out.

DONT DROP THE MAGNET!!

Make sure you get a strong telescopic magnet. Alot of them on the market would barely be able to pick up a screw driver.

I went and pour water into both drain holes. My car being on a lift I can see the one closer to the battery drain out on the fuel tank right aft side. And the other one close to the fender drain out in the wheel well over the drive shaft area... There is not a lot of space between the structure and the fuel tank. It would be very difficult too try anything from under the car... Like all the other who are trying to help you the only thing you can do is fabricate your own tool, coat hanger, telescopic magnet etc and have lots of patience! Good luck Luke!

May be, I'm not sure about that one, if you go under the car, remove the front plastic cover , the one covering the front transmission and the fuel tank. Look if you can slide your magnet around the fuel tank area....

Great pics again jpflip as others have suggested go fishing with magnet and see what you catch. I would remove lower panel and give that a try also.
