Cast Metal OEM Y Pipe
I have this OEM "Y" pipe that is not plastic. its some sort of cast metal and is not aluminum. anybody see one before? is it an X50 or GT2 option or something. its kinda nice because it could easily be stripped and painted. Sorry, iv had a lot of dumb questions lately!

You mean the OEM Y-Pipe that every 996 Turbo (and most likely GT2) came with from the factory. . .

Why yes.....that one.....the one in my car, and most likely yours, but apparently not all that came from the factory are plastic. this one is not. it is metal. im asking what option this was available on.

every one i have seen is cast metal not plastic my car was a low optioned car k16 in oem form

I've never seen a plastic one. I actually still have a metal one, drilled for meth...that I don't need.

the one in my car is as plastic as it gets! i just went out and tapped on it. i guess I have the light weight high performance plastic stuff.

only knocked a stock piston once, it was with a rod tho. Could not tell if it was plastic because the rod then came threw the block and that was the only sound I remembered
