What part is this?
What part is this?
Hi guys, doing a boost leak test I noticed the top rubber line making bubbles even at very low pressure. I tried zip tying the hose but no luck. It is almost as if the air is coming from further down within the box. I thought about using some epoxy to seal it but I need to know what this part does and whether or not that is a good idea. Any info from people who know would be appreciated.
It is behind the alternator on the drivers side of the y-pipe. Grey box with a bunch of vac hoses (some of which go to the diverter valves) and an electrical connection at the top.
Thanks!!!

Electric switch over valve to control the diverter valves (overrun valves). It get his muscle negative pressure from the vacuum chamber and when electric signal comes from the ecu it open to provide vacuum to the diverter valves and open them to bleed intake pressure.......Item #45 on the parts cat and the price is $59.44.

Cool, so that second picture tells me that since it is the top tube that is bubbling it is the pressure tube and not vacuum which makes perfect sense as to why it would bubble. Also looks like I should be able to just tighten the clamp somehow (a better way than a tiewrap since that didn't work).
PS, I tried to give you rep but it said I have to spread it around before I can do so. SO you obviously helped me before, lol

It is also a vacuum line. Remember you are doing a pressure test. So pressure gets into the vacuum line since there is no power iapplied to any switches and the pressure comes from the intake assembly.....
I always love the "what is...." post and then see the Jpflip as the most recent answer. I always know my knowledge base will increase significantly when I read JP's response. JP thanks for contributing.
Yes I have to chime in and give jp props as well. Very helpful member and has chimed in more than once on my own threads.
My answer to the OPs question would have been "bubble blowing line". Is that rep worthy as well? : )

Thank you very much gentlemen. You encourage me to continue to help those who are in the dark. I love doing it and at the same time I make friends! Plus, we have a common passion, Porsche
