It is decision time for you:

1. Buy the cheap fix on Ebay whereby your spoiler is permanently up
2. Buy new hydraulics which cost around $1400 and either install them yourself or pay a shop
3. Buy a new rear deck with spoiler like a GT2
4. Try to fix it yourself like many other members have tried (some successfully, others not so...).

I bought new rams and installed them for the stock look of the car.

I've got the same issue. I've done a ton of research and basically bmwtmx there has all the solutions you're going to find in one tidy reply.

Keep in mind if you fix it yourself / buy new hydraulics you'll be good for a while but you'll end up with the same problem again one day. Hopefully not soon.

If you decide to go with a new GT2 spoiler I hear mishadesigns.com has a solid one. You'll be looking at $1550-$1900 (depending on if the wing is carbon fiber or not) plus delivery. Note that it comes with the deck lid which will need to be prep'ed, primed and painted which will add significantly to that cost. If you were ever thinking of doing it (like I am) now is the time!

One more possibility, find a member that did the upgrades to fixed wing and buy their old working hydraulics

Option 5 there is a solid one for sure, if you can source it.

Didn't know about that option. I'm going to check their price out. Might be a good way to go. Nice add!

Just had their replacements installed (and their replacements for the convertible top hydraulics) installed on Thursday. Works flawlessly.

The local dealer (and I'm sure others) use them too, but at a HUGE uplift.

Luckily I'm not that far away from them.

BIG win.

Apparently it's $660 plus shipping for the rebuild. An extra $100 if you need new hoses. Sounding like a good way to go, think this'll be my route since the wife seems to like the "moving wing".

I just went through this myself and I was lucky enough to only needing to refill one of the cylinders within the main unit. Hopefully the fix lasts. My other option was going with with the rebuild kit that XLR82XS suggested http://cabriolethydraulics.com/products-rear-wing.php.
